Toro Ya Me skippers

Meet the skippers upon the Toro Ya Me cruise boat. Together they are a formidable team taking the passengers on their desired cruise on the Hartbeespoort Dam and bringing them safely back to land.

The Hartbeespoort Dam is also known as “Harties”, is an arch type dam and is situated in the North West Province of South Africa. The dam is about 35 kilometres west of Pretoria and lies in a valley south of the Magaliesberg Mountains.

Originally the dam was designed for irrigation, domestic and industrial use.

The cruise boat, Toro Ya Me, is operating on the Hartbeespoort Dam. The party boat’s main office is situated in Schoemansville – a town alongside the bank of the dam.

The dam covers a surface area of more or less 20 square kilometres with a maximum depth of about 45 metres. Vehicles crossing over the bridge are being controlled by traffic lights and then passing through a 56.6 metre long tunnel. The dam wall is about 59 metres high and 150 metres long.

The dam and its surrounds is a huge tourist attraction - a superior place with things to do and an amazing holiday destination for young and old.
