Junior EAP position

The following are requirements for the Environmental Assessment Practitioner position:

• A post-graduate degree in the Natural Sciences or Environmental Management;

 • Excellent project management and organizational skills;

• Proven ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks;

• The ability to communicate and correspond with stakeholders and clients from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds and professions;

• Excellent writing skills in English;

• The ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans (good Afrikaans writing skills will be to your advantage);

• Good computer skills (proven ability on at least MS Word and Excel is essential, and the candidate should be confident in his/her ability to master other programmes such as Cape Farm Maper, Project Management);

 The following are recommendations for the Junior EAP position,

• Experience in the field of environmental or natural resources management at least 2 years;

• Experience of compiling and writing Environmental Impact Assessment and Management Reports;

 • Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental legislation, particularly the National Environmental Management Act, Act 107 of 1998;

• Experience with the use of GPS and processing of spatial data in ArcGIS

 • More than 2 years experience as a certified EAP;

• Proven business experience. Remuneration:

• The junior level EAP post would pay in the region of R6,000 to R9,000 per month, negotiable depending on the level and years of experience.

• The senior level EAP salary is negotiable and dependant on the level of experience and qualifications
