Shark Rock Pier is a 137m long reinforced concrete pier situated between Hobie Beach and Humewood Beach. Construction on the pier started in 1998 and it has an alternative function which was to stall beach erosion.
The pier benefits sightseers in that it gives a sweeping view of the Humewood and Summerstrand beachfronts.
There is no admission fee for entering the pier but fishing from the pier is not permitted. For swimmers there are freshwater showers at the pier entrance for cleaning off sand before visiting restaurants or returning home.
